Zola Hand-Made Hardwood Frames

Zola Hand-Made Hardwood Frames
All of our frames are individually hand-crafted from kiln-dried hardwood, harvested from sustainably managed forests. Each frame is carefully assembled using hand-drilled pocket screws, metal fasteners and non-toxic, low VOC, water-based glue. As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, each Zola frame is built to last a lifetime and will outlast the original fabric many times over. As re-upholstery is a form of recycling, this ensures that your Zola furniture will not end up in a land-fill with it's plywood cousin.

Zola has chosen to use continuous no-sag springs in all our furniture. While the debate over hand-tied springs versus continuous springs continues, our experience has shown us that while hand-tied springs may provide a superior level of comfort when polyurethane foam is used for seat cushions, our use of natural latex negates any discernible difference between the two. In terms of long-term wear, virtually every hand-tied piece that comes in to our facility for re-upholstery needs some measure of repair, while continuous springs look as good in ten years as the day they left the workshop. Hand-tied springs, like 8-track tapes, were once the pinnacle of technology. Personally, we will go with digital recording!
